Who we are
The BenchBook is a project of Justice Project Pakistan (JPP). This policy covers the BenchBook app and website. The service is for judges and legal professionals and is not meant for children.
What we collect
The Guide and Library can be read without an account, and nothing is stored about you.
Credentials are issued on request with anonymous names, such as Judge.1, so nothing is linked to a single person. An account holds its questions and answers and what it saves.
The website uses a cookie to keep you signed in, and another to apply the daily limit for visitors without an account. It has no analytics or advertising.
How the assistant uses your questions
Your personal and account details never leave our server. Before a question is answered, our server removes names, CNIC, phone and case numbers from it; only that cleaned question text is passed to the AI service that writes the answer (Anthropic, or Google Gemini as a backup).
Who can see it
Only you can read your questions and answers. JPP staff see usage counts and account details, and read an answer only if you report it.
How long we keep it
Your questions and answers stay in your history for 30 days. After that they are unlinked from you and cleaned of names and numbers, and deleted within a year; anonymous copies of questions may be kept up to two years to improve the service. Saved items stay until you remove them.
Your choices
In the app’s Account screen you can erase your history, sign out other devices, change your password or delete your account.
